Hi Everyone:
I was wondering if someone can help me get rid of this messgae everytime I turn on my computer:
[LocalizedFileNames]
McAfee Online Backup Status.lnk=@C:\Program Files\McAfee Online Backup\oem.dll,-20101
It comes up in note pad:
I'm running Windows XP SP3 and I've just upgraded to McAfee Internet Security 2010-11 from 09, NO problems before that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in Advance
I believe this was previously reported and only a session with the online Technical Support Chat fixed it (linked under Useful Links above), however a question did you upgrade from one type of protection to another or did you uninstall use the cleanup tool and reinstall?
Moved to the Online Backup section by the way.
Upgraded from 09, did not uninstall 09
Are you/will you be using Online Backup or not?
I configured online backup, I will not be using it.
Try the following and see if it helps.
Uninstall McAfee software in the normal manner through the Control Panel/Add or remove Programs (XP), Programs/Uninstall a Program (Vista/Windows 7)
Then run the MCPR removal tool listed under Useful Links at the top of this page.
Reboot, then go to your account download page online and reinstall your software using the Custom option and omit Online Backup if you no longer need it (optional).
See if that helps.
If it does not then I recommend you contact Technical Support Chat also via Useful Links above.
I'll try it, I don't have time tonight, but I will in the next day or so and then I'll let you know. Thanks again for your help
OK, good luck.
That solved the problem, I should have removed the earlier version before installing 2010 version.
Thanks again for your help
