I wanted the virus plus, the virus scanner and firewall. Now I keep getting warnings about the spyware of which I already have with another program.
There is no longer a place to turn it off. And no more quickclean.
This is not what I ordered! Change it or refund my money and I'll go to another vendor.
I believe that you have is the 2010 version of VirusScan Plus - it's just an upgrade from the 2009 version.
I'm not clear on what you mean about a warning about spyware. Can you provide the exact wording, and a description of when you see it?
QuickClean should either be installed or available for installation. If it's the first, then you should be able to find it in either the "PC Optimization" drawer or in the Navigation page near the bottom. If it's not installed but available for installation, then you'll be able to install by simply checking the checkbox next to QuickClean and Shredder in the Features option on the Navigation page.
Sorry Steerpike_ca, you are highly mistaken.
I have the same problem. They upgrade the 2009 version to the 2010 version but minus the tools (PC Optimization) especially quickclean, registry cleaner etc.
There is no such drawer that you mentioned. I posted this issue (Where are the tools) in this forum since March 18 and until now, no solution in sight.
I formatted my hardisk and reinstalled the Antivirus Plus (downloaded from their website). Same problem.
I even installed it in my newly bought computer. Result? Same thing.
Did you check the Features screen as suggested?
Dear Steerpike,
This is the screenshots of my computer, taken today.
I downloaded and installed the software last week. No such thing as PC Optomization drawer you mentioned.
By the way, its a brand new computer running Windows 7 Premium. Thus, no past history.
I have been attending these forums since March. Nothing gets solved.
This is the ONE and ONLY software company making me running around like a mad dog, trying to solve problems created by them.
I suggest, let's forget it.
The Features page I was referring to was in the Navigation screen (see my first post). It looks like this:
You guys may be missing the obvious. One screenshot says the product is "McAfee VirusScan Plus" and the other shows "McAfee Total Protection". I just upgraded from one to the other and know there is a difference in the screens and item availability.
No, the difference in the suites shouldn't impact this specific issue; QuickClean a.k.a. PC Optimization is included in both suites except for rare planned exceptions.
I'm not saying they aren't there. I'm saying they may be located someplace else in a different panel.
I know for a fact they are different because this morning I was running VirusScan Plus and now I'm running McAfee Total Protection.
