Hello,
First off I think my PC is clean.
Just a little worried about my scan results page.
I have a home pc with windows 10 and use McAfee Internet Security program.
Whenever I do a scan (full or quick) it always show the results at the end.
I dont go to risky places so Ive never once had a virus.
Anyway, for 2 years now I alway scan once a week.
Today I noticed that the scan results show that it never scans for PROCESSES.
It always scans about 550,000-600,000 files and never finds anything.
But lower on the results page its shows
PROCESSES SCANNED = 0
PROCESSES DETECTED = 0
Why does it not scan for processes?
Or are there just none on my computer?
Thanks...
Is there anyway I can turn on the process scanning?
I just went back and looked, it has not been scanning processes since April 2017.
That was the last time it scanned a process.
2 years now without scanning one.
Been saying that for ages it is scanning correctly I feel just the wording of the summary. I will ask the program manager for comment.
I am facing the similar issue with the product, my system is acting wierdly sometimes all is good, and at times it turns into a sloth scans come clean and after analyzing processes i disable all possible files like akamai netsession, but the performance issue remains... i wonder even after subscribing i have to do everything manually
Hey MadMarc - just saw this thread. I'm a Product Manager at McAfee. Here's the deal: To avoid lengthy and unnecessary scan times...we only scan all processes once, presumably the first time you run a full scan, and we cache the results. Then, we'll only scan any new or changed processes going forward. No need to keep scanning something we've already validated as safe. If the creation date or other attributes change (potentially malware disguising itself as a legit process, or something piggybacking on a legit process), McAfee will know, and will scan. Hope this helps.
