Unable to install AntiVirus Plus

I am installing Antivirus Plus on Win XP SP3. During the install, right after it starts checking to see if it can install, I get an error saying:

"An unhandled win32 exception occured in INstall.exe [3532]" It pops up in the Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger and asks if I want to debug the problem.

Then it just exits.

How do I fix this?

I would suggest you try to run the MCPR removal tool found at the top of this page under Useful Links to remove the McAfee files that may be corrupted in your computer from the failed attempt attempt to install the software and reboot the computer.

I would then suggest you follow the suggestions in this document and run the McAfee preinstall tool prior to you attempting to install the software. The document also mentions about having your windows updated.
