I updated my Gateway Laptop to Windows 7 a few months ago and shortly after Mcafee (i am running Total Protection Suite [TPS] on 3 computers) said I needed to reinstall the suite. I attempoted this and DMsetup.exe failed and then caused a blue screen crash of the system. I contacted a technician through chat who ran a removal and attempted a re-install of TPS and once again it caused a blue screen crash of the system. I was told that this is a known issue in systems that have updated to Win 7 and a fix would be available within a week or two, it has been two months and I still cannot install TPS on my laptop without it crashing.... Please help! I would like to get the virus protection I am paying for and I feel my laptop is the most important system to have it on.
Gateway NV52 running Windows 7 Home Premium
Wireless connection through a cable modem
No other virus programs installed

Daneesh (hope i didn't mis-spell the name too badly) from McAfee called me and walked me through the installation of Total Protection Beta. The beta program installed and I am once again protected until the patch is released to fix this problem. Thank you Daneesh for your quick and courteous response and for taking the time to make sure all of my conscerns were addressed.
