I have a McAfee subscription purchased with my new Dell PC. The subscription expires in October 2014. I have purchased a second licence so I can use the same subscription on my old PC. The old PC had a separate McAfee subscription which has now expired.
I can install the new subscription on the old PC without any problems and the programme works all right for about a week (updates are installed and it shows the correct expiry date of 2014), but then it seems to lose the new subscription and tells me that my subscription (the old one) has expired and my computer is no longer protected. If I reinstall the new subscription it works all right again for about a week but then the same thing happens (the problem starts while attempting to install new updates).
Does anyone know what I should do to avoid having to keep reinstalling the programme?
Hi there,
Its just that the remnants of your previous programs weren’t removed from the PC. Please run the subscription repair tool that should fix up these subscription issue. Pls find the step by step instruction outlined here : http://service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx?id=TS100966
Thanks,
Many thanks for your help. I'll try doing what you advised.
this link does not work
It works for me. I've answered fully in your 4th post which has its own thread.
As the originator of this enquiry I can confirm that the instructions given above in the reply dated 14 February worked satisfactorily and I have had no further problems.
