Should i stay with Mcafee Anti-virus or switch to a better Anti-virus?

I'm using mcafee because I got a free two year subscription and I thought I might as well stay with it. However, recently my computer's been acting a little funny, so I was worried. Also, if i get a new Anti-virus, must I uninstall mcafee first and leave my computer unsafe, then install the New Anti-virus? What are the steps to keep your computer clean? There may be multiple reason for the device to act unexpectedly. Below are few reasons mentioned.

• Running out of RAM (Random Access Memory)
• Running out of disk drive space (HDD or SSD)
• Old or fragmented hard drive.
• Too many background programs.
• Too many startup programs.
• Falling behind on system OS updates or driver updates.
• Malware or viruses.

To check if your computer could be infected with malwares or viruses, you can run a scan with McAfee.

If you would like to switch to another AV, then it is recommended to remove the previous one as it might make your device very slow.
