Hello. I am facing a bit of a problem running Windows with my McAfee Total Protection 2010. Before going into the details please note I have the same setup running in 2 laptops (a HP Pavilion and a Toshiba Equium). Both the laptops are running 32 bit Windows 7. Here is a synopsis of my situation:
Softwares of concern: Malwarebytes Antimalware, Rapport and McAfee Total Protection 2010
Since I have started using McAfee my shutdown and start up time has been bogged down significantly. I also get a plethora of warnings and errors on the Windows Even viewer for shut down and start up. Here is a sample of some:

I have been in touch with Windows Support, HP Support and Rapport Support with regards to identifying the cause of the problems. In all cases the support staff have identified McAfee as the key issue of concern. I have painfully uninstalled each of the mentioned softwares and tried to recreate the issues. They all appear as soon as McAfee is installed. I have tried to reason with McAfee Support but the technical team was unreasonably rigid and kept on blaming Malwarebytes for the problems (which is not as evident from numerous posts in the forum here). Everyone has suggested to drop McAfee and use another antivirus. But I have just renewed my sibscription with McAfee and dont want to waste my money.
So is there anything that anyone can suggest? I am really frustrated and would love a permanent solution to these issues.
Thank you in advance for the help.
Best regards
Ashraf
Hello Ashraf,
If you are already running other security software, we recommend removing them as basically they have conflict with McAfee's virus scanner. Moreover, some third-party applications will not allow McAfee Security Suite to install or run correctly or might cause performance issues in the computer. To ensure your computer is functioning efficiently with McAfee Security Suite, we recommend to uninstall the other security suites .
Additionally , Some security software (anti-virus, firewalls, etc.) will not function correctly with other similar programs installed. Uninstalling previous security software, including any existing McAfee programs, should prevent any conflicts from occurring during or after installation. Please let us know if we face any issues even after removing all conflicting security software's . we are glad to help you .
Regards,
Dinesh K
