1st Jan 2021, my subscription auto-renewed. Since then, my wife has received 6 emails from two different sources, purporting to be from McAfee but are plainly not, requesting that the Cart be checked. The product is registered to my email address, not my wife's. I've tried Online Chat but was only advised to block the senders if possible, and that our other devices can be protected.
Thing is, we have McAfee deployed on a Windows 10 PC, and use MS Outlook to manage our email. So, any protection is limited, as we can see the dubious emails arriving in my wife's Inbox on the PC.
The purpose of this message is to alert people to the possibility that McAfee may itself be a target of phishing email campaigns - so please be careful & always check the true sender of email before clicking on any links etc.
Hi @skavuk,
Thank you for the heads-up. Please provide us with the email addresses from which you received the emails so that we can check them and come up with more insight.
Regards,
Allwyn I
Sure, Allwyn -
The first email arrived masquerading as "Auto-Renew - McAfee", but the Return-Path found on the email's Properties reads "**personal information omitted**".
Subsequently, further emails arrived from "mcafee.com", but the Return-Path was actually "**personal information omitted**". We've received three of each from these two domains.
If you require the original emails, please send me privately either a URL that I can upload these to, or an email address, and I'd be happy to save to file then attach them so that these can be more closely inspected. Thanks, Allwyn.
Hi @skavuk,
I have sent you a private message. Kindly, check and response to it. Thank you.

Allwyn I
