Removing McAfee Vault

Around January of this year, McAfee placed a thing on my laptop called McAfee Vault. It was a folder in Documents. I called to find out what it was and that I did not ask for it. The tech mentioned that it can not be removed and that I would have to live with it. I asked at least to have it taken out of Documents and placed in another folder which I don't use, He placed in my Music folder. However, with two folders of Vault appearing. I told him that I was not going to renew.

Yesterday  as my subscription was up for renewal anyway so I uninstalled the entire antivirus McAfee the normal way, with control, programs, uninstall. Then used the McAfee tool. But still the Vault folders remained. I called McAfee and the tech tried to remove the folder but could not.

Tech Dept is supposed to call back with 24 to 48 hours. As I understand it they are trying to find a way to remove the Vault.

Anyone else having this problem???

Re: Removing McAfee Vault

The tech from McAfee called back and spent another hour trying to remove the Vault folders I had 3 of them. But they are all removed.

You have to keep trying and it takes 3 or 4 hours of dealing with McAfee to get the Vault thing removed. Hopefully McAfee will stop this and make Vault an option.
