Real time scan

Real time scan says it is off, when I try to turn on nothing happens and my screen freezes, have to go into task manager to close the screen.  It is showing that the last scan was performed in August 2016.  My account is active until March of 2017, but it seems my Antivirus protection and scanning has not been working since August.  Has anyone else been having trouble with McAfee updates and virus scans?

                 It seems that your software has somehow become corrupt. I would suggest a complete Uninstall/Reinstall of your McAfee Product. However to make certain there is not any Malware present on your system, please run the following program ( Malwarebytes (Free)  Select any possible detections to remove and restart.

                   You can obtain this and other Superb Applications from here > . Then follow these Guidelines/Instructions How To Uninstall/Reinstall McAfee Consumer Products EXCEPT Anti-Theft

                    Also please make sure you have no other Security software installed, which could cause conflicts with each other.

                    Using 2 Anti-Virus applications at once can/and will create havoc on one's system.
