Hi there,

Please check if you have the process spools.exe added to your program permissions and given Full access , if not proceed with the below instructions ;

  1. Double-click the M icon in your taskbar.
  2. Click Web and Email Protection.
  3. Click the Firewall link.
  4. In the Firewall options window, confirm that the Firewall is On.
  5. Click the Program Permissions drawer.
  6. Scroll through the list and make note of any application rules you may have created, Check if spoolsvc.exe- Printer Spooler Subsystem is present and give n Full access .

Also, check if the Windows file sharing Netbios is been opened .

  1. Double-click the M icon in your taskbar.
  2. Open the Web and Email Protection drawer and select Firewall.
  3. Open the Ports and System Services drawer.
  4. Select the checkbox beside the Windows File Sharing (NETBIOS) Ports 137-139 option
  5. Close McAfee SecurityCenter.

I have a 3 PC wired network and 1 networked printer and 1 connected to my PC that others can access if My PC is turned on. Is yours wired or wireless?

I assume the network works with the firewall active ie PC1 can access PC2 etc? Have you trusted the network?

Really cannot see where the firewall could interfer unless...

In your firewall My network connections you will have a 192.168.*.* - 192.168.*.* type allowance correct? Do you also have a Fe80::/10 connection which aims at the network card?

Depending on your answers I would then consider uninstalling then reinstalling the version of Mcafee

Run MVT the virtual technician available in the Tech support link see if it finds an issue

To uninstall

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100507

Reboot and run

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.exe

reinstall from your account

Thank you this has worked successfully, I am concerned why this would have happened in the first place but I guess I'll never know
