I just left the "Security Awareness Forum" and was pleasantly pleased to see that a newer version
has been released-October 11, 2013.
Just as I do when I download "Rootkit Remover", I download the Tool and save to a folder. Close out
of all my windows, and my Browser. Then go to Folder and open. Just ran 3.0.0.373 and "No Suspicious Files Found"
My question being...Should I run Getsusp in "Administrator Mode" as per instructions on how to use "Rootkit Remover" suggests?
I did not "Run as Administrator" when performing my Getsusp scan...
Is there a benefit of doing so?
As always.Thank you in Advance.
Regards-CatDaddy

the RootKit Remover and Stinger applications.
I guess what my wife states on occasions, holds truth. "At times....I,m bout as "Bright" as a "Burnt-out" Light bulb"

I've sent to an Invitation to join the GetSusp group...if you wish to join of course.
Thanks Ex Brit...Why of course I,m interested. I may report back just in case others, would want to know equally as well. For it is a "Superb" Tool. I,ll have to do later, as the "Grandkids" just woke !!!!

CatDaddy...
Uh-oh, good luck with the kids.
If you ran GetSusp as a normal user, it won't be able to scan other user profiles or locations on disk/registry that a limited to users without admin privileges.
In case your account has admin privileges, GetSusp will automatically elevate itself to run using admin privileges. You don't need to explicitly run the tool as administrator.
Thank you Vinoo for your "Prompt" response.Since my account indeed (Does) have adminisrative privileges , all of my user accounts and locations were scanned. I was impressed by the short amount of time it involved to run the Tool ( just a tad over a minute).
I want to thank PeaceKeeper and Ex Brit as well for their assistance. I will register and join the "Getsusp Community" in short time. As the "Little Rugrats" are due to be picked up shortly. Ahhhhh....the benefits of being "Pa Paaaaaa"...you can spend time with them, then send them home !
Of course I earned the privilege-( 4 Daughters, 1 Son )....
In my opinion , one could consider this post (Answered)
