New GUI ?

I noticed I randomly got the new (blue) GUI tonight. However, it's still Live Safe ver 14 R13.  I thought the new GUI meant you were running the LAM engine.  (This is definitely not lightweight; it's the same memory use as before).   Or are they doing it in phases - new GUI, then new engine at another point?

Re: New GUI ?

And being the inquisitive techie that I am, I decided to uninstall/MCPR the Live Safe product (shown in the screen shots above) and install my subscription to AV Plus to see if anything was updated to a new version there. Go figure, my AV Plus install (screen shot shown here) is version 15.1 R2, and I believe *is* using the LAM engine based on the lower amount of memory use... Yet the GUI is the old green style.  Very interesting.

Re: New GUI ?

I know it is confusing, eventually everyone will show/have the same Version/Build/Blue GUI . Livesafe is the only one which has the 'Switch' enabled for the (Blue) GUI at the present time. For instance I have McAfee Total Protection 15.1.r2 and the same (Green) GUI.

Re: New GUI ?

I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share with others who may have the same question.  So, is 15.1 R2 the new LAM engine, regardless of the old-style GUI?  I assume so?  Thx

Re: New GUI ?

Again confusing,15.1r2 added back in the 'Scheduled Scan',albeit a *Quick Scan*. The very 1st Version/Build which was 15.1.156 (r1) it had taken away the scheduled scan. As I stated in my prior post, all will eventually be the same.

Is that clear as Mud? Heck I am kinda confused now...

Re: New GUI ?

LOL, so 15.1 r2 *is* indeed the LAM engine, albeit with the scheduled scans added back in?  I actually have the option for both a Full and Quick scan on mine, btw.

Re: New GUI ?

I can *Manually* start a 'Full Scan', but not schedule one?

Re: New GUI ?

I can schedule a scan and that schedule option is in navigation  area not where it used to be in the Virus and spyware protection box.

Why CD's is acting up is strange will probably rectify itself soon unless we start to get several users saying that then the fun starts.

Re: New GUI ?

On mine it doesn't specify whether the schedule scan is Quick or Full.

Re: New GUI ?

Exactly..  But it is a *Quick Scan* and you can always *Manually* start a *Full Scan*.
