I recently purchased a new desktop which has a 15-monthy subscription to McAfee security. There are no problems with accessing the internet, however I find that it is impossible to download any type of video file. Whenever i attempt to do so i always receive a message telling me that the file concerned contained a virus and was deleted. Any information or suggestions will be welcome. John Hermann.

Thank you Tony. After a little detective work, I seem to have been able to fix the problem myself. I had previously attempted to install an older version of Norton Systemworks, and as part of this process inadvertently also installed Norton Antivirus. This caused a conflict with the McAfee security system, since amongst other things the Registry would have been altered. To fix the problem I downloaded the 64-bit version of the Norton removal tool and was able to satisfactorily remove every trace of Norton from my computer. All seems to be working satisfactorily now, without any need to remove and re-install McAfee security. John Hermann.
What are you using to download is this via torrents? I never have an avi or mkv file rejected can you PM me a link to such a file and I will test it.

Thanks saved me chasing this up as I rarely see avis rejected provided you get them from good sources
