McAfee pop up

Jump to solution

I have BT Halo 3. It came with McAfee, The BT changed it to Norton which totally trashed my computer. Cost me £60 for a techy to sort it. I purchased a 2 year license for McAfee. Recently I get a pop up from McAfee to say there are 5 viruses in Microsoft Edge. A button says "Remove Virus" I have done a full scan and it found nothing.  What it is doing is sending me to a page saying my account has expired and wants me to pay again!!! This pop up is appearing every few minutes. I am 83 years old have been on internet for well over 25 years and it is so annoying. Pups

I was using Microsoft Edge browser and the ugly 5 Viruses popup kept popping in and out but  I never clicked on it.

I went to Microsoft edge>click right top 3 dots > system> notifications > brousless.com> BLOCK

FIXED IT

Same here, the proposed solutions don't work!

If this doesn't end I have to go to another antivirus software!!

Re: McAfee pop up

I have taken many steps to remove every single file associated with McAfee. It was impossible. You then have to download an app from McAfee to remove remailing files. I can find no trace in my apps, but I still get so much spam from McAfee it is like the worst stocker scenario you can imagine. Even if you surrender and buy another McAfee subscription you will be hammered with McAfee pop-ups until you are ready to put a bullet in your own head. Now McAfee wants me to download McAfee Malware Cleaner to clean out the junk? I learned my lesson and I regret the day I ever installed McAfee. I will never install anything on my computer that is associated with the McAfee brand. McAfee is a scourge that should should be banned from the internet forever.
