Re: McAfee installer cleanup

That is usually a program that initiates and runs after a Upgrade to Version/Build. I would allow it to run. Have you noticed your Version/Build change lately,or experienced any issues?

Firtstly

McAfee Application Installer Cleanup (random numbers) - ~1.exe - Program Information

Vista Support Forums

Have you cleaned your temp files both windows and internet/browser. that would be my first step.

From the link this is removed after each startup. From other threads I see winpatrol has flagged this since 2009.

Have you removed Mcafee?

Re: McAfee installer cleanup

The only McAfee program I am running is Site Advisor on my browser.

Peacekeeper: I clean my temp files all the time.

Re: McAfee installer cleanup

Again this process usually appears after a Version/Feature update/upgrade and clears itself upon reboot.

Re: McAfee installer cleanup

It's not a programme anyway, it's the temporary file remnant of the installer.

All you need to do is some spring cleaning - that I do frequently.

Click the Windows key + R

Type in temp and hit Enter and OK any prompts

Once they're displayed click Edit > Select All

Then click Shift + Del to delete them.

Not all will go as you'll discover, this is normal.

Just follow the steps logically.

Do the same but type in %temp% this time

Follow the same steps.

Then do a Windows Cleanup using the built-in cleanmgr

(Windows key + R, type in cleanmgr)

These are steps you can take at regular intervals to free up space on your machine.

Re: McAfee installer cleanup

Running McAfee QuickClean is a help also.

Re: McAfee installer cleanup

Plus you should be asking WinPatrol why their software is finding an issue with that file.   It's not McAfee's fault.
