What is Affid?
It determines if you purchased your software directly from McAfee, or through a Partner/ISP/Manufacturer. By your being a 'Direct Customer', I also feel that you should have received v14.0.5120 by now. However as it is being throttled out, depending upon your Geographical Location could factor in.
Having said this...I see that you are on the (en-us) Server as well. You can simply wait as you have, or quite possibly do a Clean Uninstall/Re-install from your account and should receive it. Should you decide to do so, Remove Your subscription from Programs and Features/Control Panel/Restart. Then use the latest (MCPR) Tool/ McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool/ Restart. Then re-install from your account.
Or follow these Instructions; How to uninstall or re-install supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool
Also if you would feel more comfortable having Technical Support assist you, you can contact them via Phone/Online Chat being more expedient. The number for US/North America is 1.866.622.3911 and it is ( Free). Services and Support for Home and Office
All the very Best,
CD/Catdaddy
I might add also, Colleague Ex_Brit has yet to be updated from v14.0.4121 himself, as he is using his ISP subscription on one of his set-ups.
Yes even a moderator has to wait..... 😉
Mine has updated to the new build
HOWEVER, it is still trying to update every couple of hours.
I thought this issue of it updating every couple of hours was suppose to be fixed by the new build?
I was hoping it would only check once per day. Did I miss something?
The affid seems to be Dell is that correct your Mcafee is Dell sourced. If so Dell was being rolled out 2 weeks ago we will reask in our moderator call this day. From what we were told there was a bug found that slowed the release up.
When I bought this PC from Dell a years or so ago, it had McAfee Live Safe installed on it .This year, I renewed the Live Safe software directly with McAfee everything
was fine with it updating just once per day or so. In July, I updated to Windows 10 and then in early September I noticed McAfee Updates is constantly updating
every couple of hours which in turns slows down everything and at times will freeze/hang. I'm not sure exactly what they did to fix the issue with Windows 10 but I
can't image they would need to update every couple of hours.
If I need to make a change in the software to limit the updating, exactly what do I need to do besides turning off Updates and manually turning it back on?
Thanks for trying to help. I am the point of kicking this software to the curb and finding something else.
