Re: McAfee Anti-theft and Window 8 problem

Stand alone product? I think this has been replaced by File lock a program included in Total Protection. Even TP is not as yet win 8 released version compatible as of this date. It is in beta testing.

Best to ask support it is free.

Re: McAfee Anti-theft and Window 8 problem

The consumer products wont be Windows 8 compatible until the official release of Windows 8 later this month when a software upgrade will be circulated to make them so.

Tony is correct, Anti-Theft is obsolete as of July 10, this year.   File Lock is included in Total Protection or All Access suites.

See:  http://home.mcafee.com/store/mat-eol for more information.

MAT was only ever compatible with 32-bit Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 anyway.   You can try installing it in compatibility mode perhaps but I doubt it will work properly.

Here's a tutorial on that:  http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6832-compatibility-mode-use-windows-8-a.html?ltr=C

Re: McAfee Anti-theft and Window 8 problem

Can I open McAfee Vault using File lock program or how would I tranfer data from vault to File lock program?

Re: McAfee Anti-theft and Window 8 problem

That I am not sure about.  Technical Support might be able to answer you better.

In the help section of my All Access it says the following:  (note I do not use File Lock so can only quote what it says).

Open File Lock

On the Toolbar click Advanced

Enter a name in the Vault Name filed and click browse then OK

Click Import.

Now that's as much as I know.

The FAQ's at Support indicate that the Vaults are still labelled Anti-Theft so the chances are that you can do that.   Just in case you might want to hedge your bets by doing as you suggested as well.
