Perhaps I am misreading your comment, but it sounds like you think the ads were removed from McAfee's "professional" products -- if so I would have to wonder which products those might be.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, I am using McAfee's Small Business Protection product, which is not supposed to be a "consumer" product -- it most definitely has the stupid McAfee popups
Don't hold your breath. 😴
Hey @N4AOF
At the point in time where I managed to collect a refund and end my McAfee subscription, the advertising was most definitely still built in.
I still think this violates Australian consumer law. Regardless, McAfee need to take some responsibility for their deplorable customer service.
Hello,
McAfee's Small Business Protection is a "rebadged" version of McAfee livesafe.
Look at the functionalities and the number of protected stations they are identical.
I was talking about endpoint versions managed by a "real" web administration console. But the enterprise arm of McAfee was sold.
Only the consumer branch remains with the McAfee name.
This is why, it seems to me, we must try to bring up the user experience of current products.
EWS.
Hello,
I think this is against European RGPD law as well.
EWS.
Aha.

Can you also provide a public statement on this issue, since so many McAfee customers are affected by the built-in advertising and the associated failures of customer service in addressing the issue.

as of today Mcafee refused to address the annoying marketing pop ups in its program which utilizes msedgewebview2 which is marketed to designers as a way to provide marketing messages direct to users. McAfee not only ignores complaints it is removed the ability to shut of alerts not only in its program but in Windows as well by not having an icon to select to block alerts. accordingly this is going to be sent to the Office of the federal trade Commission for research if McAfee does not immediately permit the blockage of alerts. the actions reek of disrespect of its users and I also will be discontinuing McAfee. after decades of using them.
from task manager you can select McAfee line and click on arrow to show subheadings and end the process msedgewebview2 in McAfee's line. and it will block the annoying pop ups until the computer is restarted . its a sneaky way to by pass a browser pop up blocker as it is actually a pop up on microsoft edge but with out needing a browser open,
However msedgewebview2 is used by other apps that don't take advantage its clients should be left running and not disable for example viewing PDFs .
