I can't activate my product

I'm having trouble installing the antivirus I purchased. (This is the first time I've ever installed any McAfee products on my computer)

I'm able to download the installer, but when I try to run it, a "Download Cannot Continue" error message displays every time.

I can't even down load the "Tech support chat thingy"

I constantly get a "Unable to download files from McAfee server" from the tech support

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bits)

I have a wireless internet connection

Hello masiel,

Could you please provide us with the following details;

What is the operating system of the computer ?
How is the computer connected to Internet (dsl/wireless/cable)
Do you have any other security software installed in the computer ?

I had a 30 day trial of Norton antivirus (but I already uninstalled it).

Thanks for the info masiel,

there are possibilities for the norton traces to block your system from accessing McAfee's server .

Please run the Norton removal tool from here : http://service1.symantec.com/support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 .

Run McAfee removal tool from here and restart the computer .

Please clear all your temporary files, Run Mcpreinstall tool from here http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/McPreInstall.exe

Re-download your programs from your account page and that should do the trick.

Please let me know if we still have any issues with download.

I am having the same problem.... i did everything it says below and now when i try to download it from my account it does nothing, when i try to download from the cd it tells me the e: drive is not valid

Please provide us the following information:

1. What is your operating system (mention service pack details as well)?

2. What type of Internet connection that you are using?

3. Are you trying to install McAfee for the first time, if No then why was that uninstalled from the computer earlier?

I can not install the antivirus in my computer it says that I am having problems with the internet connection or the server is unavailable. I have Windows XP and I am connected via cable to the internet. Please let me know how to do it. The thing is that I use to have the antivirus connected here and I restore my computer and I don't have it anymore.

Click on Start> Select Run> Type CMD> Type ping download.mcafee.com - let me know the reply address
