Re: How to get rid of irritating commercial popups

dont expect Mcafee to give you any support on this ..

I created a powershell script that waits and kills that stupid process, because if they are going to spam use with unwanted ads then the product should be cheaper.

# Define the name of the executable to monitor
$exeName = "mc-web-view.exe"

# Function to continuously monitor and kill the executable
function Monitor-Process {
    while ($true) {
        # Check if the process is running
        $process = Get-Process | Where-Object { $_.Name -eq $exeName }

        if ($process) {
            Write-Host "Process $exeName is running, killing it..."
            Stop-Process -Name $exeName -Force
            Write-Host "Process $exeName killed."
        } else {
            Write-Host "Process $exeName not found, waiting..."

        # Wait for a few seconds before checking again
        Start-Sleep -Seconds 5

# Start monitoring in the background
Start-Job -ScriptBlock { Monitor-Process } | Out-Null
