I'm at boarding school and my laptop will not reseave updates as the school's network needs specific proxy settings for any application that accesses the internet.... Please could someone tell me how to change these settings so that McAfee stops SHOUTING at me...
You can try the steps in this FAQ: http://service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx?id=TS100291&lang=en_US&prior_tid=2&AnswerID=16777216&turl... but I think Proxy connections can cause problems for the home product auto-update.
You can, however, now update manually - check this out: https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-2155 - which should stop the SecurityCenter nagging you.
Change the settings for automatic updates by opening SecurityCenter then click Updates > Settings

The info I have may not be up to date so best for you to check with online Chat as previously suggested.
