Hackatack (sp?)

Hi all. I have been hit with the trojan Hackatack. I ran a McAfee scan and it didn't detect it, but it popped up again when I started Firefox, so it was still there. Anybody have any suggestions as to what I can do to get rid of it and be sure it's gone?

Re: Hackatack (sp?)

This document from mcAfee will assist you in removing your virus(s)

I would suggest you follow the recommendations in the document and be sure to run the McAfee stinger scan which is included in the link. After you complete the recommendations and if you still are having issues, then I would suggest you try to run the free version of this tool http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php by downloading this onto a usb stick from a non infected pc and by renaming the download and installation files to something you can easily remember as virus and malware are written to self protect themselves. After you install the software check for the latest updates and run the program and let it clean everything it finds and reboot the computer. You may also get a second opinion from this free program as well www.superantispyware.com just follow the same procedure as above.

Let us know if this resolves your issue

Re: Hackatack (sp?)

I ran Malware, Stinger, McAfee Scan, and SuperAntispyware and Hackatrak was not detected. I don't know if that means it's gone (hopefully) or it's just hidden. Stinger detected an Artemis trojan though and deleted that.

Hopefully you soved my problrm...thanks for your help.
