Employer wants me to install McAfee in my personal laptop (Windows 10)

Hi, I'm not very tech savvy so I've questions. I got an alert from the IT Team saying that I cannot use my personal laptop for office work by connecting to office VPN (although we were told that during WFH we can do so). So now they have asked me to install McAfee. But I requested for an office laptop from my manager, because I don't want to install McAfee.

I have not received a reply from him yet but there is a chance that he says an office laptop cannot be provided. In that https://tutuapp.uno/ case I'll have to install it on my personal laptop itself.

Will installing McAfee stop me from visiting non work related websites outside my work time (can I disable it) ? Also will they be able to track me? I also read deinstalling McAfee is a nightmare so I'm not sure what to do here.

Hi @sikhanegi,

Greetings from McAfee.

Installing McAfee will not prevent you from visiting any non work related websites. It depends upon your VPN policies and whether they permit you to do so.
