I've been playing Darkest Dungeon through Steam for a long time now, and today Mcafee keeps quarantining a important file for it to run. It says its threat is JTI/Suspect and a bunch of numbers. Even though i havent changed anything its not working. I would like to know how to stop it from quarantining.
Not entirely sure what is happening here. But I'm having the same issue.
There seems to be no way to allow a file and keep real time protection on.
If I need to choose between Darkest Dungeon and McAfee, McAfee goes.
Other system runs a different security software and it runs DD just fine.
Please click here for the document to exclude a file from Real Time Scanning. If still McAfee is quarantining the file, the file might have malicious codes/abnormal behaviour. In this scenario, scan the file on Virus Total to check the file and update us the results.

Karthik,
I had the same problem too. I uploaded the problem executable to VirusTotal.
Here are the results (7/66):
Results of the non-Steam Darkest.exe (0/66):

Thank you!
I could see that the file has been whitelisted for McAfee. Kindly update us the current status.

I can verify that when running the scan directly on the problem file, McAfee no longer quarantines it.
Thanks for your help!
