AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

When I attempt to run a full scan, the scan stops at the above file. I've downloaded and reinstalled Mcafe and run the  scan several times with the same results. I even tried letting it run all night. No difference. Please help if you can.

Re: AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

Click on Start> Run> Type %temp%> Click on OK. Delete all the files/folders under this folder and retry the scan (these are just temporary files of your computer so you don't have to worry about that)

Re: AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

Thanks, but now the scan stops at 1% on the file C:\...\$SRDAM7K8.tmp. What now?

Re: AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

Thanks,

The path was C:\\$Recycle Bin\S-1-5-21-2564437475-77756272-2572779012-1001\$RDAM7K8.tmp

I've tried restarting my computer and then emptying the Temp folder and then emptying the recycle bin and then running Mcafee with the result being the same although when I rechecked the recycle bin it was still empty. Any more ideas? I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

CEG – Disable system restore, reboot the computer and enable them back. Scan it again, it should work

Re: AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

Thanks, however it didn't work. I tried it twice with the same result-a freeze at the same file. What the heck could that file be? Anyway, any more ideas?

Re: AppData\Local\Temp\tmpD8CF.tmp

Reboot the computer, tap F8 continously immediately then the computer restarts, select Safe Mode hit enter twice. Once you reach the desktop, delete all the temporary files once again and re-try the scan over there (McAfee would show as disabled in Safe Mode so dont be worried).

Try that out and let me the know status
