My old DELL XPS8100 has been running slow and losing network connections for the last few days. Ran OK for about 10mins then everything effectively stopped. Had looked at all sorts of solutions to fix but last night was the eureka moment. Tried to scan a document via Wifi last night and discovered it couldn't even file the scan due to low memory. That's when I discovered that this offending AnalyticsSDK process was the culprit. Here's hoping a solutions is found quickly.
From my observation, the memory for McClientsAnalytics.exe were allocated massively when Google Chrome is launched to view websites and it is not cleared when Chrome is closed.
For replication purposed my Chrome is Version 55.0.2883.87 m (64-bit).
Thank you for your input. I would like to inform (Everyone) that Senior Level Engineers are aware of this issue, and monitoring this thread.
Chrome may be involved with my PC. I run chrome up all the time with 20+ active tabs. Certain sites do auto-refresh. It may be that this AnalyticsService / ClientAnalyticsService process is hanging on chrome related activity.
I do not see any memory issues with the underlying McafeeScannerService.
Any comment on what impact disabling this AnalyticsService / ClientAnalyticsService service would do to the overall AV / Antimalware functionality of the Mcafee total protection.
My vague recollection was an update to the McAfee software about 1-2 weeks ago requiring a reboot. Possibly this was introduced with this update?
I periodically run a couple of tests to check my ( Layers ) of protection.
1. Go to Allinfree.net ( a parked Domain ) and Web Advisor should block it. ( Click on Back )
2. Go to Eicar.com and run the Test file ( 68 bytes string will suffice ). Your Anti-Virus should block it.
3. Go to ebdy.com ( Ebay ) to test your 'Typo-Squatting' protection.
Typosquatting detection helps to prevent you landing on a "fake" website that is pretending to be legitimate. See TS102572 for more details about typosquatting.
Having the same issue, Ben happening since thIt's day. Can usually run a fair few thing at once, with loads of tabs open in chrome. Now it crashes - sometimes straight away, sometimes 5mins, 15mins.
doesnt like scrolling.
then laptop won't access internet.
rebooted about 59 times over the weekend.
looked at process tree and AnalyticsSDK is using ads of memory.
cuTrenton any work I'm doing is taking 3 times as long, please please can we have s solution soon
To explore possibility that this is chrome related, i completely closed Chrome .. and all other browsers .. no impact .. the memory footprint on the process did not fall and in fact just keeps rising
So i did same with other apps that have an ongoing traffic .. all same result
Outlook with exchange
iCloud
Trillian
skype
skype for business
but nothing seems to change the trajectory of the increase of memory except of course ending task
Add me to this list for people experiencing high memory usage to the point where windows keeps complaining that I'm running out of memory. I'm happy to help explore and provide information regarding this issue as needed.

I will note that shutting everything obvious (ie no major apps/programs running) down and just running a "Check for Updates" under Mcafee Total protection will see this value climb about 1,500K
