I shared my CD with my friend and brother, I am the last one to download in August 2010. My friend was the first to download in March 2010. Had problem registering on McAffee site. The McAffee technician said I needed to register under my friend's McAffee account. I asked how do I know her password, he said I needed to ask her. With some switching of names, finally registered with him remotely taking over my computer. Now when I check my account, my name is my friend's. My one year renewal date would be March 2011 even though I downloaded it in August. I have not been able to check with my brother yet since he's out of the country. CAN SOMEONE FROM MCAFEE tell me if this is correct and how unfair and ridiculous this is.
Hello Sab,
If you changed your email address after you initially set up your McAfee account, or are unsure which email was used to create the account, try logging in by entering a different email address and/or password. As in this case , since your friend set up his own McAfee account the products should have been registered under his email address :
That is the reason it shows his credentials when you log into the account profile page .
Also, the products take up the expiration date from the date of its activation .
Hope the aboe was informative.

Thank you, Dinesh. So basically, a 3-users version can have only one account associated with it and one activation date. It is very deceptive and dishonest that McAfee does not clearly point this out. In my case, 2 out of the 3 users have basically lost almost 6 months' use of the software.

You must have been calling the Tech Support phone help line which is chargeable after the initial 30 days after purchase.
They are available free at any time using their Chat client.
However, you want Customer Service for all account issues and that is free.
