I added MP navigator exe file (re Canon multifunction printer) to the pemitted list in the firewall list but the scanner still will not work; only works when the firewall is turned off.
What else might I try?
thanks,
Shel
Hi Shel,
To add more clarity to your issue, please let us know its that the MCAfee scanner is not by passing that particular file ??? or any other issue.
Along with the same , please provide us with some of the below details ;
windows 7 64 bit
mcafee security center via subscription, up to date
no other security software
it is the scanner software for the canon mx 7600 scanner that aborts even though I added the program permission as full in the Mcafee firewall list.
Thats good! Please let us know if there is any port that needs to be opened for canon mx 7600 . Adding to that , from the programs permission list double check that spoolsvc.exe is also given full access as well.
I can not find which of the several ports listed within the firewall settings would relate to the Canon mx 7600.
No clue either when I look at the list of ports being used by the driver as they are labelled differently than the list inside mcafee.
Thre are only two check boxes know in mcafee: Un Plug and Play and Common operating system ports.
WHich of the others in the list should be checked?
Nor can i find spoolsv.exe as such inside of windows.system 32; so I can't add that to programs.
I just discovered that if in the security levels, I give "full access," then the scanning works!
So I guess I have to live with that level of security (? the lowest).
