firewall

i am using mcafee security centre and the firewall keeps turning itself off,used mvt to attempt to fix but this was unsuccessful.any ideas?

Moved to Personal Firewall as I assume this is McAfee Firewall and not Windows Firewall we are discussing.

Can you clarify what suite you have installed by name and what operating system this is please?

Is your system clock set correctly and is Windows totally up to date, including any updates for Internet Explorer, even if you never use it?

If you're satisfied there is no infection on-board (see last link below) and you have no competing software installed I would try the uninstall/reinstall routine outlined here:  FAQ TS101331
