Question about Net Guard

With questions about Net Guard abound, I thought I'd throw in my $0.02.  I have a Win7-64 system that has been exhibiting some strange behavior in the last week or so.

Attempts to authenticate to a bank website result in a blank screen.  I ruled out network equipment, as my wife's system (not running Security Center) was able to access with ease.

Disabling the firewall completely enabled access to said site, but was not a viable option.  I later restored the default settings on the firewall, then added some things to improve usability (allowing UDP 69 and TCP 3389, and trusting additional internal subnets).

The web access to this one particular site (charteroneonline.com) was still problematic, even after allowing all applications full access.  I restored the previous setting of allowing only outbound connections, then I unchecked net guard.

The funny thing was that I was able to access said site without problems.

Bear in mind, that this has been going on in the past week or so.

FYI:

I'm running SecurityCenter V11.0, build 11.0.654, affld 679, last update 2/27/2012

The personal firewall version is 12.0, build 12.0.345, last update 2/27/2012

My computer is running Windows 7 Pro SP1 (x64)

The nic drivers are nVidia nForce 10/100/1000, version 73.1.4.0 7/30/2009.

Below is the speedtest result without NetGuard.  With it enabled, I couldn't even run the test.

Re: Question about Net Guard

Try checking first if it' really the netguard by turning it off. Just to be sure, have you already whitelisted the entire domain to netguard before doing the test?

Re: Question about Net Guard

Where is the whitelist kept for netguard?  More importantly, what would have changed with the latest update that caused these issues in the first place?

Re: Question about Net Guard

hi Flogger, I Tend to agree As Net guard has been acting a bit strange.Although I ran a Port scan at www.Grc.com  Shields Up In stealth & mine came back O.K.Did you run your there or somewhere else? They have a lot of great tools there to check your computer out with.

Re: Question about Net Guard

Hi flogger, I am unable to perform the task that you are suggesting, as there were no IP addresses recorded by Net Guard when I had it enabled. Had there been any entries, I would have had the option to edit the properties of the IP address listed, or delete it altogether.  When there are no entries listed the Edit & Delete buttons are greyed out.

Update:  The strange part is now that I have re-enabled Net Guard, the problematic websites my bank) are not showing the strange behavior I had observed previously when it was running this morning, though the speed test through broadbandreports.com still hung.  This is baffling, and warrants further analysis on my own (if I feel like doing it).
