Problems with personal firewall

My firewall won't stay on. If I switch it on, it just switches itself off again. I do not get any errors but if I look at firewall settings it is shown as off. MVT also reports firewall as off.

Virus checker does not report any viruses.

I have reported this to McAfee. Tier 2 have failed twice to call me in my allotted 2 hour window.

I am beginning to loose the will to live!!

Has anyone else experienced this?

They went to Control Panel, Services and switched my Windows Firewall from Stopped to Automatic
