Netguard blocking risky connection

Hello.

Yesterday, upon sign in to Skype, I got a "blocked risky connection" pop up from McAfee, this has never happened before.

The IP number is 69.63.190.74 and it said "Last attempted by:Skype"

The IP continually keeps getting blocked, but now it says "Last attempted by: Firefox"

As far as I can tell it's a Facebook Corporation IP? And I know Skype has the ability to connect with Facebook so maybe that's why It caught it there first? Any ideas? False positive perhaps?

I have scanned my PC and it's clean.

Re: Netguard blocking risky connection

Please, any help is appreciated!

I also looked up the IP at http://www.trustedsource.org/ and it's the only IP in the "Neighboring IP" section that is high risk..

Re: Netguard blocking risky connection

I see that something must have triggered that.

Maybe report this to trusted source

If you want to address an issue with a web site in Site Advisor, ( netguard uses trusted source as well) that is based on McAfee's Trusted Source Web Reputation, please go to http://www.trustedsource.org/en/feedback/url and use the web form to contact the Trusted Source team.

If you want to track your requests or be notified via email, you can register for a free TrustedSource.org account.

Re: Netguard blocking risky connection

OK see what you are talking about  Sounds as if trusted source might be being triggered by some ad that is on these FB pages. Got an example or 2? If necessary PM me them if private.

that said  netguard disabling should have stopped the detection unless it is Site advisor?  Are you talking about a black warning at the top of the FB page?

Re: Netguard blocking risky connection

I contacted TrustedSource about it to see what they would say.

They thanked me for submitting the IP for review, and said they have removed the old rating from the site. (I assume they mean TrustedSource, although it still shows up red on site advisor).

It also says it will be categorized as 'social networking' in the next control list and that the web reputation will be updated to green!

So..long story short, I'm assume it was just a mistake.
