Does anyone know why Window 7 action center keeps telling me that the Mcafee firewall is turned off when I have never turned it off.
Hey amos71, I have had the same problems.I have asked about this for months.I just went through a hard drive this week.Well after reinstalling Mcafee i was surprised that i finally recieved the new 2010 version.Well guess what?I still recieve the same thing as you after logging on.Is there anyone that can answer this question Please? Here is the image. When i log on i am greeted by my taskbar with an action center iconWith a red X.Action center reports 3 problems.I can`t believe this is still unresolved.I have already talked to tech support about this.Their answer was that it takes time for windows to catch up.This is a newly installed hard drive on a 8 month old system.I should be protected as soon as i log on.Or am i to be stupid enough to think,As tech support suggests this could be a windows problem??? I am at a loss for words. Anyone else experiance this problem that makes no sense to me?
At this point i feel like i am being tortured by Mcafee(make it stop please) Thanks Jack
Here is what my taskbar looks like after logging in.After waiting a minute i click on flag which gives me the image above????
Is there anyone else that experiances this after logging on??Or am i crazy to think i am not protected upon logging in.When i had 2009 i would notice various scans of ports including when just logging on.I would think my computer is alot safer if it is fully protected as soon as i am logged on??I would appreciate any input on this matter. As i have had a nightmare experiance with my new computer & Mcafee.Running windows 7 with new hard drive now.I can`t imagine this is a windows thing. Also firewall says outbound for programs as (recommended) not full access?
Thanjks Jack
I have the same problem from time to time.
This problem where Windows appears not to recognize or reports incorrectly security software isn't confined to McAfee alone. Googling the problem brings up all sorts of similar occurrences.
Hitherto I have simply uninstalled, run the MCPR removal tool linked under Useful Links above, rebooted and reinstalled from the online account (to ensure I get the very latest version) and that usually cures the problem.
