McAfee Firewall Constantly Shutting Down and Functioning Improperly-Needs Help Soon

Hello! I'm having a serious issue with my McAfee Firewall, which seems to have occured to several other users. My Firewall keeps turning off, no matter how many times I'm "turning" it on. It turns off almost immediately. I've never had any problems such as this prior to when they began, about 4 days ago. I'm not very good with computers, and I will be leaving soon to go to a school where having a functioning laptop is a must. I'm anxious something will happen to my personal files, and this needs to be solved quickly before the term starts.

I've just turned the Firewall back on, but in a few minutes it will surely turn off once more.

As you can see, it says my computer is "secure" but the firewall has been switched off. If you try to turn it on, it will work for about 2 seconds, then turn itself off once more. I have tried checking other threads for information, but what I have tried has not helped. If you need more information to solve the problem, I would be glad to provide it! I just need to solve this quickly and efficiently.

As you say you've read other threads on the subject and obviously they didn't help your best bet is to get the free help offered by Technical Support.  It's available 24/7 by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.

Before connecting the interface will ask you to run the Virtual Technician, sometimes that can fix things by itself.   If the first support contact doesn't help then ask for escalation.

  • Safe Connect VPN:  You will receive free, unlimited access to our VPN wireless on supported devices. Users not on auto-renewal have access to 500 MB/month of bandwidth.

   ‡Additional Terms Specific to Identity Monitoring Service:

  • Eligibility: McAfee® Identity Monitoring Service Essentials is available within active McAfee Total Protection and McAfee LiveSafe subscriptions with identity monitoring for up to 10 unique emails. Phone number monitoring is enabled upon activation of Automatic Renewal. Not all identity monitoring elements are available in all countries. See Product Terms of Service for more information. 
  • Your subscription is subject to our License Agreement and Privacy Notice. Product features may be added, changed or removed during the subscription term. Some features may require registration and a valid ID number to activate. See System Requirements for additional information.
  • While McAfee Identity Monitoring Service provides you tools and resources to protect yourself from identity theft, no identity can be completely secure.
