I backed up my laptop, before resetting it to factory condition recently. I reinstalled McAfee Total protection which works as it should, except that I cannot access my ****.vault file of 200MB in size. I can access McAfee Vaults and see the file (folder?) but am unable to open it. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Regards
From my Parental Controls/File Lock help files:
If you forget your password, you can reset it.
1 | Open File Lock. |
2 | Select a vault, then in the right-pane toolbar, click Change Password. |
3 | Click Forgot your password?, then answer the security questions you set up for your user account. |
4 | Click Next, type a password, then retype the password. |
5 | Click Next, then click Finish. |
Those blue links wont open anything I fear as I literally copied and pasted that.
Correction, I think the blue links do work.,...ooops. Hope that helps.
Hi,
I created a new vault (2 GB in size). I then unzipped the backup file and copied the ****. Vault file into the new m
McAfee vault. I can open the vault door using my password and see the file , but it wont open. It then gives me option to search on line for a program yo open the file. I'm stuck.
I don't think you can store a vault within a vault - you need to copy the original vault file somewhere else on your PC, and then open it.
