I just updated to the full version of Thunderbird 3, not beta and have no Mcafee spam icon. Have uninstalled and reinstalled TB3 still the same. I have done an online chat to Mcafee who at first said they do not support the beta but I explained it's now full release so they said it will get updated automatically when there is a fix but I still wonder if I have something wrong in my TB3 profile as I have not seen any other post on this
Any Ideas ?

So far so good with this thing and TB 3.1.7 or 3.1.8. Not sure what I am doing right but the latest MC antispam toolbar seems to operate as intended.
have you tried reinstalling mcafee?
anti spam may need to apply itself to TB
Not yet, Mcafee has been working ok so I did not want to touch it if I could help it but I think I may have to.
Ok so I have uninstalled Mcafee then reinstalled and I now have 3 icons SPAM, ADD SPAM and ADD FRIEND, not as many as there used to be but they do not seem to do anything so I thinknk it is a problem with TB3, a lot of their addons do'nt work with it now so will wait for update
What is the TB version you have installed? I am currently only aware of the TB 3 RC 2 which is still in beta. This version is still not a complete release and is not supported by mcafee

Agree with you 100% there, on computers using Win 7 without a native email client this application just rocks.
Still no fix for this - or at least a time frame?
