I can't get Security Center to update to v.11.5.145. Still have 11.5.141. So, before I try to uninstall, can I go back to what I have right now if I create a restore point before I uninstall and run the MCPR utility and install again? Just in case things are worse for some reason?
I am glad right now to tell you all that at least for now, everything is working correctly. I did an uninstall, followed instructions from your website to prepare for an install, ran the MCPR utility, (restarting every time I thought I needed to in between steps), and then held my breath after reinstalling, began checking to see if all works. Updating actually shows the progress of an update, with no error message. Clicking Anti-Spam in the Security Center leads to the Anti-Spam instead of crashing the program. In Microsoft Outlook, on the McAfee anti-spam tab, clicking settings, leads to the Anti-spam folder opeing and not crashing. Windows I was opening that were blank now contain information. Hope I don't have to go through that again soon, anyway. But thanks for all you who helped. Together, you talked me through it. I don't know if both the people gave a totally correct answer as you both ended up with the solution I was trying to avoid but had to go through finally. The reinstall is working!!!
That's nice to hear. With computers, reinstall sometimes is a really good solution, though it's hard to find time and go for a change.
Hope it will work for good while for you now with no problems.
