Open AI Sora scam app installed

Jump to solution

I've run into this: https://www.openai-sora.org/ and I was so st***d that I've installed it. 🙈

I scanned the downloaded files and my PC as well with McAfee Total Protection , didn't find any threats.

I found the following articles on this matter:

https://spotlight.designrush.com/news/dangerous-openai-sora-ads-spreading-across-internet

https://community.openai.com/t/a-false-page-pretending-to-be-sora-scam/676234

The is a download link to what I've installed: https://ln5.sync.com/dl/7f628b110/7v2itp2n-rdppbscg-hbnz47hy-a7cznszy

Please confirm that I am still protected for this specific virus with my updated McAfee Total Protection or what other step should I make?

Hi @szabolcsd , here is a McAfee link related to your post.

https://www.mcafee.com/en-us/consumer-corporate/mcafee-labs/how-to-submit-sample.html

Follow the process and submit that exe file and let the Mods know about it here. Ask them to send you a personal message so that you can provide the email from which you have submitted the sample. So that the sample can be located.

I've already done that.

According to this article it appeared 14 days ago (15th of March):

https://spotlight.designrush.com/news/dangerous-openai-sora-ads-spreading-across-internet

This is way I am so worried. I am afraid that being this new It's not detected.

I found this information:

https://bazaar.abuse.ch/sample/910bc0e0e5afd7669cfd1932606e30484751c5cd8de63d37a39716bc039c5317

Can I make any additional actions (beside Mcafee full scan) to prevent password stealing? I am an IT manager, I have 1000+ passwords are stored on my PC...
