And/or if Your pc meats all requirements check whether You are having problems with hdd or not. I had such problem when my hdd went off with bad sectors, scanning was lasting more than 9 hours on my 255 gb hdd.

Does your computer meets all the requirements to install the McAfee Antivirus Plus 2012( RAM, Hard Disk Space, OS patches,Processor etc)..... ?
Also the time taken to complete the scan is depends on the AMount of DATA stored in your hard disk ( The scanning time must varries depents on the DATA size)

hi again, where do I see How much data I have? and I even took out from the scan, my photos and my Itune music which is where I have the most data.
I also installed the virtual technician and this option gives me some errors that seems not to be repaired since its always there,
but thinking about it, I should of stick with Microsoft security essentials at least they came up with repairs. But my husband wanted to pay so I could get more security and no more virus or problems with the cumputer.

Better you can contact the McAfee technical support else wait for some other replies from moderatorr or product specialist because i heve less knowledge on Home products ....

Hi monic,
Up at the top of this webpage, it saids McAfee Support. Highlight it and click on the Drop down Window, Home and Home Office Support. In the next Window, click on Go get Techinical Support. and take it from there.
You mentioned Microsoft Security Essentials. It should not been installed, If McAfee is installed.
