Real Protect does not support proxy.pac method yet and that's why this error is coming up.

Q: How can run Stinger without the Real Protect component getting installed?
A: The Stinger-ePO package does not execute Real Protect. In order to run Stinger without Real Protect getting installed, execute Stinger.exe --ePO

I had the exact same issue.  It happened after I downloaded and ran the Stinger executable.  The instructions stated that Real Protect BETA was included with the download; however, there was not any indication it was being downloaded and/or run--when executing the downloaded Stinger program.  The exact same problem happened on both the computers that I ran the Stinger program.  My IT department discovered a registry key in the 'runonce' key that was trying to execute the RealProtect.exe executable.  After removing this key, the problem stopped.

Interesting Jim thanks for pointing that out.   It's been a while since I ran Stinger.

I'll pass that on on our next conference call.
