STINGER version 12.1.0.1265 makes an issue on windows 7 - 32 bits, after the windows start up an error box occurs which says: “unable to connect to proxy server” or “Log in failed for user” Anyone can tell me in detail as soon as possible how to solve this issue in order to eliminates these annoying error boxes?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Real Protect does not support proxy.pac method yet and that's why this error is coming up.

Q: How can run Stinger without the Real Protect component getting installed?
A: The Stinger-ePO package does not execute Real Protect. In order to run Stinger without Real Protect getting installed, execute Stinger.exe --ePO
Does this still occur with the latest stinger build 1316?
ran ok for me just then this after rebooting as well no mesages
Best to email
for stinger questions if issue still happens
I had the exact same issue. It happened after I downloaded and ran the Stinger executable. The instructions stated that Real Protect BETA was included with the download; however, there was not any indication it was being downloaded and/or run--when executing the downloaded Stinger program. The exact same problem happened on both the computers that I ran the Stinger program. My IT department discovered a registry key in the 'runonce' key that was trying to execute the RealProtect.exe executable. After removing this key, the problem stopped.
Interesting Jim thanks for pointing that out. It's been a while since I ran Stinger.
I'll pass that on on our next conference call.
I loaded the latest version and it ran fine best to email stinger support above
On second thoughts I'll ask a lab tech to look in here.
