Why does McAfee say my protection has expired?

In September I renewed McAfee using a Key purchased online from a third party.   My Account shows that I am covered until September 2023, and I can see that McAfee is working.

Despite this, I constantly get pop-ups saying my subscription has expired and that I am at risk. Even some McAfee sites warn me that I am not covered.

Advice would be appreciated, please.
