Total Protection's version

Jump to solution

Hello,

How could I find the version of McAffee Total Protection 20111 installed on my system?

Looks like there's no information and/or 'About' page.

The OS is Windows XP SP2.

Thanks.

Hi,

If you are using McAfee 2011 Product, then you should be able to see the “About” button on the top right of the McAfee Security center as Shown below:

ABOUT - Emerald.JPG

Also if you are unable to see any version details then try to run McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) this is an automated self-healing tool that can diagnose and fix many problems related to your McAfee product.

You can download and run McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) from mvt.mcafee.com.

Clicking the "Diagnostic Details" once after running the MVT also shows the Version Details of the Product.

Also kindly update us with the Session ID.

Your XP needs upgrading to be current, there is help with SP3 installation here:  https://community.mcafee.com/thread/2007

I am testing the MTP behaviour in WIndows XP SP2, so I deliberately do not upgrade.

2 Jayadeep NR :Thank you, that's the answer. The version I was interested in knowing:

McAfee security center 10.5, build 10.5.227

McAfee Personal Firewall 11.5, build 11.5.141

2 JaiPrakash :alas, there's no 'About' link on the MTP version pop-up window of the above version. Thanks.

Then I should point out that Microsoft support for XP SP2 ran out last July,  so did McAfee's as far as providing support to an out-of-date system.

It's your call of course.   But to stay secure and in support I suggest you upgrade to SP3 a,s,a,p.

Thanks for the notification.

However, I am performing a test of miscellaneous Internte Suites on a XP SP2, this is my task.

If/when I have a support question about McAfee Total Protection running on a Windows XP, I will make sure first the system matches the minimal stated criteria.

I have also noted that MTP implies SP3 is installed.
