Dear P,
I am in California and I haven't gotten the update you talked about, should I be doing something or is it just a matter of time?
Best Regards,
Rich
I am in CA too, on Windows XP thus far no new updates.
My daughter has Windows 7 she got new updates few days back.
Am losing net connection for past few mths every few hrs, my daughter had no probs.
My McAfee was updated a few days ago and no problems so far. (Looks like problem solved).
(Unless you are looking for the update, you may not have noticed as it is automatic, no different than the periodic virus/malware signature updates... though it did request a system reboot)
I posted the versions needed
Though if you want it now uninstall and reinstall via the correct method
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS101331
reboot and run
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.e xe
Ensure you are on the US server
Vl1: I got mine automatically on one computer, but I nudged it on the other computer by going into the Updates section and clicking on "Check for Updates." Didn't work the first day, but it worked that night. And, hey, it's something to do to pass the time . . . .
radioflyer:

Dear P,
Update:
OK, got update in California on Monday. I rebooted and turned on NetG. It is Tuesday at 2 pm, so far so good.
Best,
Rich
Thing to remember mcsvhost is a umbrella program for several processes . They fixed the main issue but some ( a small %) of users may not get the solution to their problems as the issue was caused by other things.
Hi Peacekeeper,
Months ago I solved the problem unistalling SA, although many people chosed to close Netguard.
Well, after last reboot update I installed SA again, and hopefully my PC is running without problems.
No popups, no mcsvhost messages about it must be closed, !!!
So, finally problem seems solved, 6 months after it began, but fixed.
Thanks for your support and your push to McAfee.
By the way,
is McAfee going to apologize for this 6 months ?
is McAfee going to thank all people helping in this issue and voluntary people cheking the patch?
Thanks again, Pacekeeper,
take care of yourself
Best regards from Barcelona !
