MS Essentials vs McAfee

Is there likely to be any problem running MS Essentials alongside McAfee.

A friend had a trojan (win32/meredrop and win32/obital) which got past McAfee.

Malwarebytes couldn't remove it even in SAFE mode.

She tried MS Essentials but instead of just running the free scanner she installed the product.

It did remove the trojan but now she has both products running together.

Is this safe?  Any perfomance issues?

Bill

Re: MS Essentials vs McAfee

Hi,

From what i have seen on this forum you should not run 2 anti virus products on a computer. You can have 2 antispyware along side your antivirus, but not 2 antivirus programs. They don`t play nice together.                                                                              hope that helps Jack
