Can't activate McAfee Total Protection 2013

When I activated my McAfee Total Protection 2013, this message window appeared :

" please wait while we connect to McAfee.com..."

I waited for a few hours and it was still loading! I tried a couple of times but ended up with the same problem.

My PC runs on windows xp, spk2 with a fast internet connection speed (about 11 Mbps).

Appreciated if anyone could help me to activate.
