Activation issue with Internet Security 2010

Hi,

A few days ago my mcafee popped up to say that it needs to be activated, however clicking on the 'activate now' or opening up mcafee and clicking on the activate option there seems to do nothing at all.

Mcafee was recently reinstall about two weeks ago as I had to format and reinstall windows XP to fix a corrupt file, after reinstalling mcafee it activated, updated and worked fine up until a few days ago.

I've tried several of the things mentioned in the discussions about it here but to no avail.

Hi pyrkie,

Please follow the below steps and then try to activate McAfee programs ;

• Double-click My Computer.

• Double-click the C: drive.

• Right-click the Sysprep folder, and select Rename.

• Rename the Sysprep folder to OLDsysprep.

• Close Windows Explorer.
• Right-click the M icon in your taskbar and select either Activate, Activate Now, Register or Register Now.
• Follow the instructions.

Hi thanks for the response.

I have no Sysprep folder in my C:  drive nor anywhere else on my computer.

I followed the advice you gave for "Unable to activate Total Protection 2011 " and its showing as active with the correct expiry date (for now!)

I turn my PC on today and now once again its saying that McAfee has expired and that I need to Activate to stay protected... clicking activiate does nothing
