McAfee Anti Spam Persistence

Hello,

I'm currently experiencing an issue where Anti Spam is not being managed by our ePO servers and appears to persist on a user's inbox.

Within this user's Outlook, the the Anti Spam add-in disabled, they're experiencing their emails being moved to Inbox > McAfee Anti Spam folder even after deleting this folder.

What is the solution for this? I've seen many articles online with others experiencing the same issue but I've not found a concrete solution.

Thanks,

Hi @Former Member

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Remove the Add-in completely from the Outlook application by following the below steps. Once done try to remove the McAfee Anti-Spam folder, turn off Anti-Spam in McAfee UI and relaunch to check if issue appears again.

  1. Click on File -> Options -> Add-ins
  2. Select McAfee Antispam and click on ‘Go’
  3. A new dialog box opens with the Add-Ins list. Please check the box for McAfee Antispam Add in(Make sure other Add-Ins are unchecked).
  4. Click on “Remove”.

Thanks,

Re: McAfee Anti Spam Persistence

Hi Karthikeyan,

Thanks for the followup.

The user has disabled the Add-In but the McAfee Anti-Spam folder continues to show up.

We do not manage nor utilize Anti-Spam so I'm not certain why this issue would occur. Is there a way to totally remove the hook from Outlook?
