IE9 makes McAfee antispam crash.

Jump to solution

Hello,

this morning I have downloaded  IE9, without any problem during installation and it was working fine.

But when I wanted to open McAfee security center and then antispam to see if emails had been filtred, then McAfee crashed and closed...

I turned back to IE8 and all was working OK as usual.

I tried one more time with IE9: same problem!

I wrote a post on IE9 forum... and here too to try to have a solution.

However all is perfect with IE8!

Regards,

Thank you. Of course I should have a look in "anti-spam" part of the forum.

Do you have any idea about the moment where this update will come?

Do you think that Brian Trombley will signal it on this topic,

https://community.mcafee.com/thread/33812

when it is done?

Jerome.lichne,

This issue is already reported and we'll have an automatic update to address the anti-spam issue you describe shortly.  Until then, you can temporarily uninstall the IE9 update if you'd like to access anti-spam settings.

Hello and thank you for your response.

This bad experience occured on my computer with Vista.

I did not try IE9 on my wife's one with W7.

Is the problem the same on both systems?

However you tell me that a soon update must fix it so I'll wait  for it before going back to IE9. With IE8 all is perfect!

Will the number of the anti-spam version will change? (now 11.5.141).

I have the same issue with IE 9 and my operating systemis Windows 7 Ultimate Sp1. So I suggest you to stick with IE 8 till get an update from McAfee to fix this issue.

For your information, this issue will not block Anti-Spam process on your computer, but we are unable to change the current settings. Anti-Spam is working perfectly with my Outllook.

I don’t think that update will change the version, however we can wait for an update. Thank you for your patience, Jerome.

It is allways a good news when you see you are not alone with a problem.

We have to wait for an update fixing this issue.

BUT each time I have such a problem I wonder if the responsable is Microsoft who doesn't care of other softwares, or softwares developpers who do not consider the operating system necessities?

By myself, I think that, with IE8 all was fine and the bug came with IE9: so Microsoft should fix the issue...

Thanks at McAfee to do it (as soon as possible...).  And sorry for my poor english... I hope you understand me.

Jayadeep,

thank you very much for the big work you have just done!

So the issue is not fixed yet and the available McAfee version proposed to be downloaded is still the same.

The only thing to do  is to wait for an update, but I notice that the last post on the other topic is one week old... Not very rapid, McAfee developpers!

Maybe you should write the same text on your first topic (which has been read by Brian Trombley from McAfee team) to inform every one.

Thank you again and regards from Paris (the first warm and sunny day since monthes...)
